Willow Warbler

By brian1208
We live at the end of a Cul de Sac which is closed off by a rough mixed hedge. This time of year it is alive with many different small birds and yesterday I discovered that the Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs are back.

I spent about 15 minutes watching this little one popping in and out of the hedge and got a range of nice shots. I thought this one showed the bird off well but may put up another as a variant, showing a more "environmental" shot for comparison

I love this time of year

thanks for all your positive comments.

Its funny Laura, I guessed that the more traditional "Bird on a Stick" image may get the most reaction and yet I'm with you, the more I look at the "Hedgerow" vesion the more I see in that.

I guess it may be because its how I think of these little birds behaving naturally?

Both great images but No.2 for me. There's more of a setting to the photo and I like the pose of the bird.

Thanks again forthe new comments. Strange isn't it, we travel large distances to get our images and yet these were obtained about 100 yards from my house!

Another lovely capture Brian.
I agree, this time of year is wonderful for birdwatching, and listening. All that courting and nest building.
