Approaching Rain

By BrianM
Heavy rain moving across Dartmoor this Tuesday provided a wonderful double rainbow with the arches touching the ground at both ends. Not only was I not able to capture the complete arch because of the width of it by the time I was able to get out of the car and get a shot the upper faint arch had faded away.

Unusual rainbow shot. I like it. I can't seem to get any strength in the rainbow when I try these shots.

Thanks for taking a look Eric and for your comments, appreciated as always. It was not only windswept but windy too with spots of rain coming in on it when I took this shot and I didn't hang about too long too far from the car, a few minutes after this shot was taken the heavens opened.
A very beautiful shot Brian. The trees in the foreground look like they've been painted on! I don't have any luck with rainbows either, I'm never in a nice beauty spot when I see them!
Hope you had a good break

Thanks for taking a look Suey and for the comments, appreciated. A dark foreground and a dark background helped, I feel, make the rainbow stand out.

Great break thanks, just over too quickly.

Thanks Mary, pleased you like it, I just wish I could have captured the whole arch (thought afterwards I should have taken two shots and stitched them) but as I couldn't I zoomed in to put more emphasis on the windswept trees.

Thanks Richard, taken on the last day of a break in Devon. I was hoping for better weather up on moors but I suppose I mustn't complain, it's not alwasy good weather that produces an interesting shot.
