Supper Time

By Maiwand
The Great Crested Gebe (podiceps cristatus )
Not an uncommon bird but always, in my view, a most attractive sight on most of our lakes and ponds. I love to see them and in particular I so admire their skill at fishing. This one has caught a really large fish ( not a fisherman so I cant ID it) which he promptly carried off to feed his youngster. I have put the handover of the fish on as version 2. Not done it before so if it does not work I am sure you will tell me !!
Large view will be worth the effort I feel.
As ever and always my grateful thanks for all views/comments or votes on the bath time Great Tit.

Absolutely superb images Ron. My first though on the fish was a Perch like Richard but I see Cheesy ID's it as a Tench. Maybe the three distinct lines that led me to believe it was a Perch are from the Grebes beak catching the fish. Either way a great shot.
