Nice to see ya

By Brilane
A Special Sunday Shot.
I have been a little concerned as I hadn't seen the Mandarin Duck on our lake for quite some time and was very pleased to see him today. I noticed that he wasn't showing his brilliant 'courting' colours, as he was in my last upload of him. But he is still colourful anyway.

I only had my compact with me, and he was on a 'fenced off' area, so I couldn't get close to him, and this was the best shot that I could get. I hope that you like it.

Perhaps he has done so much courting Brian,
some colour has drained out of him !!
Still colourful though.

Love Mick's comment above! Smile
Still a beauty even though he is not so bright (the bird, not Mick!!)

This is such a fancy and beautiful duck, Brian. You're so lucky to have this so close by!

Never a truer word said in jest by our Mick, he's hit the nail on the head. After the breeding season they moult and lose a lot of their colours. They are not as recognisable then

A beautiful bird and the courtship is their most colourful time, and he is still looking rather handsome here
well shot with your compact too

'the best shot that I could get' looks pretty fabulous to me Brian, as I've never seen one in the flesh (as it were) I'm happy to see one whichever way he comes, be it pre, during, or post breeding time! Wink
Rgds., Jim
