PARENTAL CASTLE, INNISFAIL QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA

By BRITCHIE
i would like to thank everyone for voting, commenting and giving me awards for my photos, it is very much appreciated! have a nice day to everyone.

Jose' Paronella left his hometown of spain in 1913 to move to Australia, in hopes to find the perfect location for his dream castle.
he worked for 11 years building his wealth from buying, improving and selling cane farms.
he started building the dream castle in 1929, he first had to build a 47 step staircase to shift building materials from the lower level to the upper level. it was all hand built using stone.

A interesting narrative, lovely building with some great textures, love the way nature has taken over the steps and the way the building blends into the background. I should imagine that it would be a stunning place back in its day.
