life of a egg

By Briwooly
Some thing different from me, at the end of April we spotted something going on in a small apple tree in the back garden, It turned out to be a pair of song thrushes building a nest. What strange about that, well the nest was in the bottom V of the tree and what was more surprising is that this tree is the favourite climbing frame for our three Siamese cats. So Paula had me out and we had to build a wicker castle around the nest to stop the cats climbing up. Well the first eggs hatched on the 27th April and on Monday 12th May (15 days) all four chicks flew off with mum and dad. Successes all round. I think I’m going soft in my old age Wink

Tech stuff all pics taken with either 17-40L or 70-220L

As always thanks for all previous clicks and comments always appreciated

you were very lucky to have these - they are fabulous images and a wonderful report - weren't they fat before they flew off. What a great idea a wicker basket. if they've gone, it might be worth cleaning out the nest of any messy bits if it needs it and see what nests in there next! In fact she may go back again for a second brood!
