Like the manuipulation and sepia tones Brian, for me I just wonder if its worth working a bit more on the darker lHS of the shot

That far away look on his face says so much, and the toning and presentation are excellent: I could not suggest any changes but I am not au fait with this genre and others I'm sure may offer help.

I like this very Much indeed. Richard is the portrait man and he may well be right about the LHS but I think the darkness is ok with a portrait of this type.

I loved the original and think this is even better. Your image leaves one with a sense of this mans war weariness, and as I said originally you could be forgiven for thinking that is where it was taken. I wish you great success in the competition ... Carol Grin
