WW2 Factory Girl

By Briwooly
Another from the Pickering war weekend

As part of the conscription requirement women had to chose whether to enter the armed forces or work in farming or industry. By December 1943 one in three factory workers was female and they were building planes, tanks, guns and making bullets needed for the war.

Thanks for the response to my previous efforts all looks clicks and comments gratefully received Grin Smile

Great candid with a perfectly fitting background. The toning of the image really gives it a sense of the era. GrinGrin

A first class portrait Brian, with excellent processing, that brings back memories, but after the war, I wasn't quite here during it. My gran first worked in armaments then making silk parachutes - she bought us one that was duff. I also remember the 'headgear' well. Carol GrinGrinGrin

Lovely bright eyes with catchlights, and a perfect expression, very good portrait on which the toning works a treat.
