Phalera bucephala - Buff tip moth

I found this in the garden this morning. He very accomodating as I reposiioned him. This shot was made up as an 18 image focus stack.

Jason - before you say anything this one was very much alive.

It's a beauty Darren and very well executed. Certainly the right time of day to get them and you have put it on the right substrate so it is quite comfortable to stay there - it is amazing how if you put them on something they don't blend in with they will wake up and fly off.

Think I had better take up composites!!!!

I actually found it on our white window sill and it was quite happy to sit there. Go figure??
