For want of a nail, the shoe was lost;
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost; and
For want of a horse the rider was lost;
Being overtaken and slain by the enemy, all
For the want of care about a horseshoe nail.

    Thanks Dave, I had the whole place to myself (no tourists) as I visited early in the morning at around 5 am. I got to enjoy it a whole lot better. Only trouble was that this was only taken with a smart phone camera, as my Nikon D7000 died a death a few days earlier in Venice. Smile

    Those Murano craftsmen are very inventive and extremely gifted. If you stay away from the "gift" shops and visit the workshops direct, you get to see much more interesting pieces - the prices reflect this, but you do get what you pay for. Smile

    Thanks Alan, but I don't think that you can go far wrong when you visit Venice. The light changes at different stages of the day and throughout the seasons, giving you a great variety of possibilities.

    No wonder Turner, Monet, Manet, Singer Sargent et al congregated here, this is a truly wonderful city.

    I have a different perspective of the same view -"O' Sole Mio" taken an hour and fourteen minutes apart (later), and the contrast is noticeable.

    Smile Thank you Allan, I love Venice and keep going back to look for hidden gems, and at best try to get shots without the tourists. That usually means getting up early! Here's a direct link to other Venice stuff that people might not get to see. http://www.kam-era-man.com/gallery/venice-2016---2017-28336
