The quality of the image is excellent and the subject may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is maybe more photo journalistic than you give yourself credit for Si. Certainly cinematic quality.

Excellent crop, lighting, subject and composition.

Award in place.

Works for me. He's REAL, human... And just as you say, a cinematic picture. Not very Homes and Gardens, but the apartment is lived in, and I dare say that it's comfortable in ways that many homes are not. And maybe happy...

Great shot Simon - says a story & poises questions in itself besides being artistically good - Agree with Dudler upstairs

I love it, for all the reasons above. But mostly because it's a reminder to appreciate what we have, and to quit bitchin' about what we don't have in this world of instant gratification that we live in.

Don't knock yourself,'s a superb piece of photo-journalism showing one man's existence. Funnily enough, he looks as if he was chosen to pass in with the surroundings.

It is a great photo with equally good processing skills.
I hope you will show us more of these.
Any chance on a B&W?
That should look great too

What's not to like?, it's an excellent image Si. If I hadn't run out of awards it would be getting another.

It works in many ways...I find the right half of the image a little distracting and wonder if a tight crop would work? 😁😁

Hey Cats could be cool, but wanted to show as much of the environment as possible to get the flavour and set the seen.
Cheers Simon.

When you learn to be satisfied with what you have and be grateful for it. Good to strive for a better life but be grateful for the now and hopeful for the better. This does look like a scene from a movie. Very, very good.

A bit late to the party, but absolutely love this. Had hoped to go to Cuba last year. If only. But I'm not sure how you would get in on a subject like this anyway. Have to give it a late award.
