The spider and the beech leaf

By C_Daniels
Taken yesterday during an interesting trip around Roche Abbey...

The close up shots of the vegetation there at the momemt recorded quite an interesting display of colours - details and textures. The time of this shot was around 16:20 with the sun fairly low now and producing a warm light to the back of the leaf.

The close up filters I used here really are a good cheaper alternative to other equipment for getting that little bit closer, I bought a set of three which were second hand for only a fiver... The spider here was only a few millimeteres in size.

Mode - aperture priority
Aperture - f5.6
Shutter speed - 1/125 of a second
Filters - x4 and x3 close up filters
Anti shake - activated
The camera was handheld.

Thanks for looking - more detail in the larger format.

Very effective with the back lighting, like the diagonal of the vein, more enhanced by your presentation, well done!

beautiful green of the leaf, creative. I have a feeling that the spider is a little too small but cannot resist a CLICK anyway 'cause it's a wonderful idea.
