Pier Street

By c_evans99
As much as it's been regenerated there are still opportunities to feel like Atget in Swansea's maritime quarter. I wasn't home long enough to learn the fate of this building in Pier Street, but I hope it's not to be demolished, or simply chopped into flats.

I used a Wratten 22 on all these shots, partly because it's supposed to be good for revealing architectural detail, and partly to 'slow', and add contrast to, the ISO 400 film I was using.

Nice to see the old Pentax MX still performing well (I do keep mine loaded but I hate to think how old the stock is now).

Glad you left the cars in shot to prove this is not a vintage shot - it sertainly has that feel to it - technicaly a little advanced for me (especialy since going digital).

You and your magnificnet pf have inspired me though - maybe it is time to ...

Thanks. The MX had just come back from a pretty expensive repair job (It's a black one so just about economic to fix). It wasn't so technical really, I was using the camera's metering all through this series and zone focussing.

I'd not used a 28mm too often before and had to do a lot in Photoshop to correct perspective (tho not so much with this shot).

shame when the old architecture has to make room for the new sometimes.
