Blue Bedroom, South Uist

By Camairish
The bedroom of a long since abandoned croft house on South Uist. This and another twenty five or so prints from my 'Deafening Echoes' series on the abandonment of croft houses in the Western Isles are on exhibition at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes, Fife, until the first week in May. There is also work from artist Robert Balfour Ward and photographer peter Iain Campbell on display.

Charming as it looks, I think I'd give sleeping there a miss. I think there may be beg bugs in the mattress WinkTongueGrin. Lovely image Grin.

There's a sadness about this image which is very engaging.

Someone would have bought the bed from new, bought the mattress and painted the walls. And now they've gone and it's just abandoned and forgotten. That's very similar to life really, and more than a little sad.

Thank you for preserving that memory.

Blue and damp, love the title of your exhibition and good luck with it Ian.

Looks like something explosive happened on that bed to damage the ceiling like that.

A highly unusual series from the majestic Island of Harris.

There's more to Harris than beaches & mountains.

Hope the exhibition did well.
