There is a story behind this aeroplane. It was designed in the 1970s by Phil Ball (you can see Phil in my image entitled "Concentration"). It was produced as a kit by Humbrol.

A few years ago I bought the kit from a car booter. I had had thoughts about keeping it as a collectors' item but it turned out to be incomplete, so instead I made the missing parts and built the model. It is nice and simple so it did not take long.

I had to shorten the nose a bit and with that mod it flies very nicely.

Hey, I had a similar one, the propeller was powered by an elastic band; user had to twist before releasing it to the sky. It was simple and fun, no batteries required so it was an endless fun toy. Thanks dad.
