Keep on running

By CaroleA
I took this two years ago, the year my husband ran his first marathon, on the Embankment, on my old Nikon compact. I deliberately took it on a slight slant to give the feel of effort, if that makes sense.

I saw lots of fascinating sights (but sadly not my husband) that day, including Haile Gebre Selassie, en route. The weather was foul, wet and cold, but I was filled with admiration for every one of the runners that day.

It being the Marathon today, of course, brought it all back so I thought I'd upload this image in honour of all those people who took to the city streets today, whether for sporting reasons, charitable reasons, or just for fun. Well done all.

Having been a runner myself once I fully appreciate the effort of running uphill, I think you have captured this superbly.

I prefer the B&W image as it has a strong reportage feel. Interesting contrast with your other images, too. Nice work. Andy.
