2 super captures of Bee Orchid's Carol, in the field next to one of the power plants that I used to manage we had area's that we used to rope off as there were these orchids growing. A great looking plantSmile

Plants do have an uncanny resemblance to certain animals, but Giraffe orchid does not have quite the same ring to it as Bee orchid.

You've certainly got us talking with this one Carol. I thought giraffe as well to start with, then when I looked at V2, I thought of a baby duckling lying on it's back flapping its wings and waiting for food!

Very beautiful Carol Smile You don't have to venture very far from where I live to find Marsh Orchids, which are quite small, and I'd imagine these are about the same size. Trouble is, you have to grovel about on your hands and knees to photograph them!! Wink

A beautiful flower Carol, you've captured its colours and markings wonderfully well. I think Bobs Blues is having a giraffe, he's obviously partaken of some of Safari Simon's Madafu! lol Tongue
