What do you mean 'Not the best of backgrounds'? I think it is perfect. Anyway, since when did butterflies study the so-called 'rules' of photography and follow them before you click?

First thing I noticed was the harmonious background - the Brown Argus is a lovely butterfly.

Two terrific close ups Carol, the background really complements this often overlooked little butterfly. The brown argus has done really well in Gloucestershire this year and I have a few more pics of this species to share with you all
