clouded yellow

By CarolG
I was as happy as a dog with two tails yesterday! After I returned from the dentist I took myself down to the meadow to see if there were any butterflies around. I immediately spotted two clouded yellows, but they are such flighty little fellas, I didnít think I stood a chance of capturing one. However, this very obliging butterfly settled on a leaf and allowed to me to get Ďup close and personalí with him, and I managed about 5 clicks before he fluttered away.

Two fabulous close ups Carol, the detail and colour you've captured is immaculate. This is one of your very best images as the background in v1 is perfect. I bet big Ade Osman will be most envious when he views these! I saw my first butterfly of the year yesterday morning, a male brimstone, when visiting Bourton-on-the-Water for work, he did not hang around for long though!

I like what you've done in V1. I'm not normally a fan of replacement backgrounds but it seems right here, a luminous green world.

Smashing image Carol and some really good work on the background too, it just loses some detail on the edges of the wings, but other than this I have to say I think it's probably one of the best images I've seen you post!.....Shortlisted!
