Definitely giving you the evil eye there Carol, superb close-ups. Hornets always look to me as if they have been designed to be efficient killing machines, they are sleek and dangerous looking beasts.

Brilliantly caught - I always feel Hornets are the gentle giants of the wasp family. They seem to realise their size alone gives them some kind of protection!

Not a favourite insect for me, although they are few and far between over here, but what superb shots, esp. the detail in V 1 and 3.
