especially for Simon

By CarolG
These images are for Simon (SimonFletch), who made the comment below on my uploads yesterday……………

‘A veritable host of highly detailed, fantasticly coloured Hoverflies, Carol.
Now just imagine what beautiful detail you could get with Birds...!
I dare you’

I decided to take him up on his challenge, well, he didn’t say that they had to be images of the wild variety Smile I don’t have a hope in hell of capturing wild birds with my little point and shoot camera, but I can just about cope with photographing my three feathered friends, today’s images are of Pedro, my amazon parrot.

I can't remember when I last saw a parrot on here, so what a refreshing change! Smile Two super close-up captures of Pedro, but V1 has to be the winner for the eye contact Wink

Stunning shots Carol lets have more. I too find it very difficult to get wild bird shots, they don't stay still very long.

V1: Very engaging, direct eye contact of an inquisitive, intelligent sort. He's talking to me.
V2 doesn't really add anything, I'd prefer V1 to stand alone.

carol that's a fantastic shot as you know i am a great fan of bird portraiture and i can say id love to have that in my pf you have rely nailed it in v 1 -pose, detail and where it relay counts focus on the eye and the little bit of catch light (well as iv been told before) adds to the capture.
well done you, take some more.
