My observations are just like Kate's in that I have seen no butterflies again this summer other than an odd whitish one. When I see your's and others' butterfly shots I realise what we are missing.
Another excellent set of this particular one, the detail so well captured. Each shot is deserving of posting on it's own, and my favourite today, if there could be such, would be V 2.

Three more fine shots Carol, all beautifully detailed. I managed to get some butterfly shots the other evening but during the day there's no chance whatever, they are so energised by the sun, so it is lovely to see yours.

It is a LONG tailed one cause I have only ever seen anything like it in Malaysia.. And says soSmile
Besides, we get the Short ones even here... They look like hollies with a little tail.
V2 is my fav, but really I'm green, sorry blue with jealousy.

A grand set Carol, your narrative made me smile, you are lucky you have not been out on a photoshoot with myself and the two Adrians, dealing with unruly school children would seem like childsplay!WinkGrinTongue

Quote:It is a LONG tailed one cause I have only ever seen anything like it in Malaysia.. And says so

Actually this is a Leptotes pirithous Lang's Short-tailed Blue Carol. The easy way to know it isn't Long-tailed is because it lacks the wide white ripple on the underside near to the wing edges. Also the patterns are different once you get your eye in (Long-tailed appears more stripey than the more marbled pattern of pirithous)!

Hope that helps!
