Whilst wandering in the meadow yesterday in search of bugs and beasties I was surprised to find a wild scabious in flower. On further investigation I saw two or three lygaeus equestris, one of which was willing to do a photo shoot with me.
In my book that makes for quite a large bug,, but well spotted none the less, my adventures in bug hunting thus far have been limited to flying bugs, and one earwig.
Quote:Another great capture Carol, is that a Small flower or a big bug?The flower is about 1" in diameter. Carol
That's quite small for the scabious Carol - we have them growing in a meadow area on the way to work and they are much larger than that.
Splendid detail as ever
