That's a mean looking critter, this mandibles looking so threatening: excellent detail captures, Carol.
Very brave of you to approach so close........I heard of a chap here a few years back dying after having been stung/bitten by a hornet after developing an anaphyllactic reaction.

V1 is impressive but it is v3 that is my winner, very interesting and something important to learn from it, while with my long lens I never get to close from my POV it is good to learn the body language for the day you collect your plums or mirabelles!
