Excellent Carol. As well as being great close-ups of the butterfly these images show how well the camouflage works against a background of flowers and dappled light, especially V2.

Bot of these have a sort of formality, they could make beautiful textile or wallpaper designs. Very effective.

I dont know if you are able to watch a programme we get in the UK Carol called Spring Watch but they were talking about the painted lady last night and said they go to Europe first and then they come here to UK so you could be correct in saying they may have left you for us but a good shot you show today, glad you got him/her before they ALL left

Said on the News there was a deluge of them had hit Britain but I've only seen 2 of them and they were too high and flittery for me Sad .

Hard to choose between these two Carol, both are really good shots. Been told there are plenty of these around this year but I couldn't find a single one on the nature reserve I went to last week.
Think #2 just has the edge for me.
