During my enforced absence from site last month, Swallow decided to emerge from his chrysalis, unfortunately whilst I was not there, so I couldn't capture his emergence. However, having found him the evening of his emergence on the floor of my bedroom, he very kindly agreed to rest on my verandah overnight, allowing me to take some images of him the next morning before flying off to join his friends. V.4 shows him as a chrysalis, taken on 14th November 2012.

Ah...good old Swallow. So wonderful that he finally emerged AND that you got to take this STELLAR picture of him, Carol. V1 has to be one of the best butterfly images I've seen on here, for sure. Vs 2 and 3 are amazing too, and I love that little tether in V4 Grin

I have 6 pupae that did not emerge this spring - they all look nice and viable - I think I probably have something to look forward to later in the fall. They seem to go in cycles as far as eclosing.
