too hot to handle!

By CarolG
To explain the terrible title .................. I saw this huge spider amongst the undergrowth but it was too well camouflaged for a shot. With its legs extended it was as large as my hand, so I very gingerly took hold of the stem of the dead flower it was settled on, and pulled it out of the undergrowth, with the spider attached. I then quickly held spider on stem in the air with one hand, and took a couple of pics, making quite sure that the spider was not making its way down the stem to my hand! I'm not frightened of them normally, but this one was just a little too large for comfort!

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend, and enjoy whatever you do, and wherever you go.

i shudder and shiver just knowing i share the earth with something like that let alone it being next to my hand - i shall pretend this is a x20 macro lens and that spider is usually the size of an ant Grin

stunning image though - the details are amazing Grin

i am leaving now to look at one of your more friendly subjects lol
