Waiting for the sunrise

By cassiecat
This is one from the Christmas few days away. Heres Ash getting right in my pic while we wait for the sunrise at Saltburn.

Have got a perspective problem with the 10-20, which i tried to correct and looked ok til i then corrected the horizon, where it looked even worse. Any tips would be gratefully recieved, as would mods.

Weekends almost over Sad

thanks for looking, lesley x

A difficult composition to bring off, with such a contrast between the two sides, but this works. The reflections in the wet sand are wonderful, particularly the wobbly lines from the pier supports; and the heavy, slate-grey sky on the right complements the glowing light on the left.

Wonderful long sweeping image, Ccat! The light and reflections in the sand are awesome, by the way.

But for me, the cherry on top are those moody clouds arching up into the upper right hand corner. VERY impressive, that. But hey, I'm a cloud person, yes? Wink

Very impressive shot. Love the reflections in the sand and the way the pier draws your eye across the whole image.

Lovely curly reflections in that wet sand. I'm not sure what to say about your 10-20 problem. It's always best to keep them horizontal if you can.

A real beauty this, Lesley - just love those reflections in the foreground. I've downloaded this and opened it in my PS Elements, and the horizon's as near as dammit straight and level Smile I think it's a bit of an optical illusion due to the pier curving in the middle, and I don't think you can do anything about that!
