The Town of Towers and Wine

It’s one of very few towns in Germany to still have at least some of its original old city walls and many of the guard towers that were part of it. It’s also known for its excellent wines (more on them in a future blog) and the “Weinfest” (wine festival) held every year in the autumn to celebrate the new vintage. On the same weekend as the wine festival, the “Rhein in Flammen” (“Rhine in Flames” – series of firework displays at different towns along the Rhine every year) also takes place there. Some friends and I thought we’d try and make it to both this year and are currently “desperately seeking…” accommodation for that night as it turns out the last train back to Duesseldorf leaves before the fireworks start… Unfortunately, every other bugger has had the same idea, so we’re struggling on that front! Fingers crossed please that we manage to get something!
Incidentally, I’ve got the Lightroom files down to around 1,400 in total now – and that includes having edited all the ones from the Japan Day/fireworks and my jolly to Oberwesel last weekend! I’m impressed with me…are you?!
