Banff Springs Hotel

By CathyT
I appear to have woken up in Narnia.

After 6 hours of snow which equates to about 10 - 15 cm deep, this is what our hotel looked like. Thought I'd try out my new camera GX7, worked a treat.

Yes very unseasonal for the beginning of September. Luckily I packed a coat along with my shorts and summer was freezing while we were there, they are still clearing the devastation it caused in Calgary. Most of the trees collapsed with broken branches under the weight of the snow.....but it did look very pretty.

That building is a Canadian castle icon. Your pristine snow and low mist presentation
makes it that much more a classic. This image should be a marker in history. TG

Your lovely photo will last forever. If it hadn't snowed it wouldn't have made this lovely difference.

This really is a terrific winter image. Beautifully composed with the foreground pines. Great shape and balance, and I love your whites. The flag just adds that bit of colour to lift the image.
