There is only one world; the world pressing against you at this minute. There is only one minute in which you are alive; this minute here and now. The only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable miracle.

Quote:Nice! I get these on my feeder.

Thanks Smile I get absolutely nothing on my feeder since I trimmed back all the ivy (it was getting very very thick) but then all the fences are being replaced next so I'll replant with Dogwood and hopefully the birds might return! I miss having them in the garden!

  • I know..............

Thanks everyone Smile I thought I'd better get slightly seasonal - briefly Smile

Don't worry - Ledley doesn't suffer for my art - he is the one that shoots off to my studio and jumps on to the table ready for his photos (ok, he gets a treat as well) - often I don't want to do any pics but when he's sitting there waiting I give in Smile

The hat stays on for a matter of seconds and he throws it off - it's a miracle I managed this shot!

I thought as much Fiona - I can understand your distress and it must be awful not knowing what happened.

  • My Boy Ledley

Oh darn - I've been out all day enjoying the sunshine and faffing about this evening and now, just as I'm about to head off to my bed, I realise I've not returned to say thank you!

So both Ledley and I say a big thank you to everyone - he's sitting on the desk next to me waiting to go to bed Smile His coat is getting thick - and cuddly - of course that will no fun come spring when he moults but for now it's lovely Smile

  • Ledley II

Hello everyone and a belated (apologies) thank you all Smile Thanks too to Dave, Sawsengee, Roy, Daryl, Malc and Pamela for your awards Smile

It was Kaybee whose comment on another of my Ledley pics that set me on this one and of course the challenge subject was just perfect timing Smile

Meanwhile the fussy toad has decided that Felix Chicken is poison - next week it'll be lovely again!

  • Bah Humbug

Thanks everyone - I tried him with the red hat this evening but he didn't want to know. Ok it was too big and had a big bell on it Smile

Thanks too to Ron and Graeme for your awards Smile Sorry Ron - he's mine - all mine Smile

I don't wear hats Malc - I just own loads Smile

I'm wondering if this would work as a Christmas card.........

  • Eyes...........

A late thank you everyone and thanks too Chris, Savvas, Adam and Graeme for your awards

Admittedly this pic was originally going to be dumped as it was all a bit on the wonk but then I realised this crop might work quite well.

I really need to sort out lighting so that I get less reflections in his eyes but he never gives me enough time to experiment!

  • Him

Sorry I'm late but thanks everyone Smile Thanks too to Sue, Jukka, Roy and Graeme for your awards Smile

I really should do pics of him on other backgrounds but our evening sessions are usually a fairly frantic 10 minutes as I feed him bits of meaty stick treat. Once it's all gone then he's off Smile

  • Claws

Thank you everyone and thanks too to Guy, Adam, Joline, Sawsengee, Somnath and Chris for your awards Smile

Ledley and I do some snaps almost every day - it's become routine for me to feed him when I get home and then he gets hand fed bits of meaty stick in exchange for a few photos Smile

Those claws often do snag a finger to pull my hand in if I spend too long waving the bit of treat around Smile

One big niggle though is to sort out the reflections in his eyes - I'm thinking a big sheet of translucent fabric between him and the light maybe - I have a white shower curtain somewhere so may try that sometime.

Thanks everyone - and to Carol and Ron for your awards Smile

I'm using this filter on all sorts of stuff at the moment - it works well on street scenes and flowery stuff and I need to resist using it on everything - but it's fun Smile

    Quote:cracking macro!

Thanks Smile I'm gong to miss these beasties when the cold weather sets in and most of the wildlife disappears!

Thanks everyone and thank you to Charlotte and Joline for your awards Smile

Charlotte - I was given a shoebox of dug up plants a few years ago and just planted them in a bed which is about 6 foot long by 3 foot wide. They've gradually taken over the whole lot and one plant has popped up across the other side of the garden Smile

Huge apologies for the late return - I've been faffing about with mortgage and pension stuff these last few evenings and by the time I've finished that I grind to a halt Smile

I'm so sorry to hear about your boys Fiona - I can imagine the worry and sincerely hope that they do turn up.

Oh I'll never get fed up with snapping wee beasties Mike - though will go back to my still life pics etc. during the colder months.

This Osteospermum is the only plant I bought at the Blenheim Palace Flower Show Pamela - the colours are lovely Smile

Thanks everyone - and thank you Graham for your award Smile

Sometimes I simply get lucky and the beastie lands in a nice location. My attempts this morning been less than stellar so I'm going to give up for now, go out, and try again later on!

  • Hoverfly

Apologies for the delay but thank you Eric and Derek for your awards and to everyone equally for your clicks and comments Smile

I just love this time of year where the bugs and beasties come out to play and I spend far too much time standing gazing at the shrubs and undergrowth when I should be doing something useful Smile
    • 28 May 2018 9:50PM
  • Fly

A quick thank you everyone - I will be back later as I'm in the middle of a bit of junk sorting at the moment and must keep going Smile

The fact that Minion Malc is speechless means my job is done- hooray!

Chris - no lighting at all - well apart from daylight - he/she was on a shrub at the bottom of the garden - I stand there regularly just watching and waiting and spotted it Smile
