Mask/Bowler/Gloves

By cattyal
Once again I'm sitting on the bus at 5.30 contemplating nothing in particular and suddenly decided to try this combination out. Sadly the Bowler doesn't show up too well but to be honest I'm not going to go back up there to try again this evening.

I'll have to stick it on my mannequin and see if I can get the light spread around just a tiny bit more.

Two options tonight - how much says I've got the wrong one first?

I think the hat is fine as it is... the fact that it blends smoothly into the darkness only adds to the 'sinister' overtones in the image.... though I expect there'll be a string of people who'll disagree..... I like it. Both v's are great... matters not which comes first here I think... though I guess if pushed I'd plumb for v2.

I don't think it matters you can't see the hat too well...just the hint that its there is enough to give this image a real sinister feel to it...sounds like I am echoing Al's words.....and I am! lol! I really like this....couldn't agree more with him.....they are really quite creepy and works a treat...nice shots! Both!

Thanks everyone! Considering this was just a quickie that I thought I'd try whilst having my after work cuppa it didn't come out too badly.

I definitely want to try it again - I'll find some decent gloves for a start - those are my cotton overnight handcream gloves so a bit worse for wear and definitely not very white Smile

The hat only just fits over the mask - I do have another one (both riding bowlers actually on long-term loan) so shall see what that comes out like another day.

Creepy is good Smile

No1 - friendly and fun
No2 - spooky and scary.

Today I go with friendly.

Both shots make me think 'Clockwork Orange', definately a bit creepy. Great idea though and I think the composition on both is fantastic. Not a lot in it for me between the versions, V1 maybe just shades it (no pun intended!).

Thanks again everyone - and thank you Roy for the mod. I need to take a bit more time over this should I do it again. Maybe bung the mask on the dummy for a few shots first - after all that's what she's there for!

Indeed Clockwork Orange - that too came to mind although had I been truly dedicated I'd have painted up my face rather than putting on a mask Smile

What did bug me is that no matter now many times I tried I just couldn't get my hands positioned quite right in V2 - despite having a large mirror positioned behind the camera they still ended up not quite upright! Ah - all the fun of the experiment......
