Me - again

By cattyal
I got the softbox out of the spare room this evening, slapped on a bit of make-up and took a few shots.

This looks ok on the pc - on the laptop it looks absolutely dreadful but I'm going to take a chance and see what happens.

I have been experimenting with the trial version of Portrait Professional - might try it on a few more images before I decide if I like it or not. I ended up with a few layers by the time I'd finished.

Looking good on my laptop Alison - nice low-key sp.
I've been using port-prof for a while now, and whilst I like what it does most of the time, I have found out a couple of flaws.

Its a well lit low key shot.

I find with low light shots that you might need to either desaturate colours, or adjust colour balance as the darker exposure tends to concentrate colours. In this shot, your face looks quire red to me, and is likely not quite what its supposed to be. Though it well might be what you wanted.

Loaded a mod for comparison, - and also very slightly lightened and sharpened.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the offer of help with PP Andrew - I'll root out a few more pics to experiment on and if it all goes pear-shaped I'll yell for help.

Thanks for the mod Willie - indeed I am a bit red on this - the foundation was totally the wrong colour and I do need to pay more attention to the WB.

I'm sure I'll try some more and see if I can do better!

V1 colour over v2, gosh you look serious - really like the historical figures in gallery's.
