Experimenting with the snoot yet again - in a very small room with the fan heater blasting away!

Now if this is really dreadful please tell me and I'll take it back down again. I quite like the pattern of the honeycomb and the overall effect but truly - do tell me if it's dire.....

Not touched - just cropped, converted and framed

This is brilliant, I love the stripes. They work really well with the curves of the body. Subtle - really nice.

No this is not dire, its really good it keeps you looking, I would maybe have cropped out some of the black space on the right though

If it wasn't for the title I probably wouldn't have guessed what it was. The pattern gives an idea of contour and looks similar to the shadows of ripples on a sandy seabed. A different abstract image, gets my vote for experimentation.

Thanks everyone - I'm pleased to see I've not done so badly. For once the pattern was intentional having noticed it on some of my mask pictures so figured it was worth a go. I'm wondering now what effect the honeycomb that came with the barn doors will do - might be worth trying although obviously not the intended application of the honeycomb Smile

As for the space on the right - yep - it wouldn't have hurt lose a bit.

Great abstract image i love the honeycomb effect, it completly changes the feel of the image. You snoot must have been quite close to get the pattern visible - its a good idea i'd like to try out.
Its tricky - to know whether the honeycomb should be removed from the snoot (more light in a circle)or not (less but more interesting light) - in your case this is excellent patterning.

Thanks again Smile

Yes - the light was pretty close - probably about 3 feet away from me - a bit too close probably. Had I not had the honeycomb on then I'm sure my side would have been totally blown out at that distance - it was borderline with the honeycomb in!

It's certainly an effect that pleases me and will doubtless be investigated further. Thanks for the mod Stuart - I'll take a look at the other shots I took and see if they can tolerate a bit of fiddling!
