What the heck.......

By cattyal
It's a what the heck night tonight - lessons learned this afternoon:

1. Don't be lazy and make do with whatever background is up when doing SPs using the 10-20

2. It's really hard getting ones legs at the right angle using a 10-20

3. A 10-20 really ephasises those walkers calves of mine

4. Doing SPs with a 10-20 is very entertaining and despite the less than perfect results, a good exercise - one which I will be repeating using the wider background and maybe a different outfit......

Works well for me, the 'cluttered background' tends to work as it comes across as a more candid shot, however, I would love to se this pose on a wider, full background - I think it will be stronger yet again.

Humour/fun should have been one of the categories. Your self irony knows no bounds and you are only to be admired for it.

Thanks everyone - I try not to take myself too seriously - and it's fairly evident I don't Smile

I will try this again - that said, your mod Roy has saved me the effort of working on the background - good job Smile The only wide background I have is white - I'll give that a go and see how it comes out although I do prefer this mucky beige colour.

I was going to stick a bag on my head but you know how it is, tidy the place up and everything disappears! It was tidy in there last weekend but I've been doing flowers as well today so the place is a bomb-site once again. The mannequins torso is to the right of the camera, her arms are over to the left somewhere and also to the left is a table with tulips, iris, anemones and gerberas on it. It's amazing how much I can pack into a relatively small space......

I'm so glad you explained the bg, I could not work out what the mannequin actually was. To my wonky eye it sort of looked like someone bending over! Now I know what it actually is it's so obvious!
PS gorgous shoes!

As soon as I saw this, I thought of you . . .
. . . must be the hat!

Another great, fun shot Alison.

Thanks again everyone - I really did think this would die a death tonight - hence my uploading on a Saturday when I know it tends to be a bit quiet Smile

I adore these shoes Jann - sadly they will never leave the house but they were cheap and cheerful and make an excellent addition to my rather varied wardrobe!

The hat is very handy - another purchase made purely for photos - that won't be leaving the house anytime soon either!

If I can get myself organised I'll try something with the white background tomorrow - maybe I'll get the loony coloured striped socks out although sadly I have no matching tops for them - I'm sure I'll figure something out.......

Oops - I forgot to say thank you Ian for your mod - I might have some 'interesting' ideas but never come up with anything like your version Smile

Thanks again everyone..... Smile

I may well have another go at this or something similar at the weekend. I need to tidy up the 'studio' ready for some afternoon visitors who will be put under the scrutiny my camera so it'll make sense to see if I can come up with any SPs while it's tidy up there!

Given that the whole exercise of this shot was just to see what I could manage with the 10-20 I'm quite happy with it -
