Striking cityscape. Great viewpoint and I like the treatment (HDR?).

Would make a great large print and you could sell this to an Edinburgh business I am sure - for an office or coffee bar.

I have seen this view from the western battlements of the Castle many times but not quite like this......amazing what a sweep of the city is captured by the fish eye.

Thanks everyone. The fisheye has been a great purchase - very rarely off the camera and I'm enjoying it immensely. When I get home I fear I'll have rather a lot of images to go through.

The only downside to visiting the castle at this time of year is that a lot of the good viewpoints are fenced off ready for the fireworks on Sunday - I can live with that though.

You got a nice sky for this. the clear blue of the previous couple of days would have not have worked nearly as well.

I was pleased with the sky - the day started off in a most unpromising fashion and I was sure the sky was going to be rather boring. As it turned out I was wrong which was good - I walked in, did the castke, the Royal Mile, up to Carlton Hill and walked for about 7 hours with the odd stand and stare moment/

Today is wall to wall blue sky - I might being going close-up today.......

Oops - it's pseudo HDR Paul - using Dynamic Photo HDR on a top layer and then dropping the opacity a bit. Not very subtle but I'm not very subtle either

Thanks again everyone - I'm still very much in love with the fisheye but now I'm back home I shall have to find something else to use it on.

I'll be looking through all the images again now that I'm home Lesley so shall give your suggestion about the floodlights due consideration - it is a good idea to shift them - thanks

I've been trying to think of an easily accessible high point in town to play but the carparks are about as high as I can get and the view isn't that thrilling!
