There is only one world; the world pressing against you at this minute. There is only one minute in which you are alive; this minute here and now. The only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable miracle.

Well the weekend is here and who knows what it will bring. It all depends on the weather in the morning whether I wander off out on a junk hunting expedition or stay home and get 'stuff' done - time will tell.

Now however I've a bit of painting I want to do so I did a very quick pic earlier this evening and that'll be it for today.

Hopefully I will slot in some decent chunks of time devoted to my camera - oh and I need to put some serious thought into whether I'm going to get my spare body (camera that is) converted to IR - I want to but I'm not sure I want to spend £300 Smile

. . . I could do quite a bit with £300.

I think that you need to be quite committed to part with that kind of cash "just" to take IR shots.

The trouble is I have the money (Xmas cash) - apart from a new macro lens I can't think of anything else photo related that I'd like and Xmas money always gets spent on goodies!

As I say Al, ''committed.''

Personally, I've never seen much point in IR imagery. It's OK as a party trick and some of the shots I've seen have looked quite clever but I don't think, in fact, I'm sure, that I couldn't part with a fully functioning, useable-as-a-back-up body to be converted.

Is there no way that IR can be replicated in software?
I must admit that I can't recall ever seeing an "IR" filter or plug-in and I've never seen anyone mention replicating it in Photoshop. I'd imagine that it's possible.

Somewhat late but I'm back Smile

I’ve not done anything about the body yet – I decided that new boots were more of a priority wot with mine having no tread left and the stitching splitting

However I’m still contemplating.

I’ve never needed a back-up body yet – I’ve never had a camera fail on me and I always carry the X10 wherever I go even if I have the DSLR on me. Plus I’ve also got the Olympus Pen now so reckon I have enough spares should an emergency arise!

There are plugins – I use them occasionally but it’s just not as satisfying as taking the pic in IR in the first place!

It’s something I’ll keep deliberating for a bit longer – at least until I’ve paid for my boots and the studio lights I bought earlier this month!!!
