There is only one world; the world pressing against you at this minute. There is only one minute in which you are alive; this minute here and now. The only way to live is by accepting each minute as an unrepeatable miracle.

365 - take 2 - 313

As is pretty normal for a Saturday I've been out all day and by the time I got home was disinclined to put too much effort into anything.

As the splashart kit is set up in the living room I can at least it takes minutes to set up and I can do a few drops. Rather hasty ones of course with flashguns visible and less than a masterpiece.

roll on tomorrow can slow down a bit.

I've found a big difference by adding Guar gum and the magic ingredient to the water Alison. I'm starting to get there with the lighting by taping three different coloured gels to my single flash gun.

I'm going to be using Xanthan Gum though it's a swine to strain. I left it overnight and at least have some I can use later on! I'd be interested to know which magic ingredient you got from Wilko - there is rather a lot to choose from Smile

Connie White explains in the book of hers...... Rinse Aid for dishwashers. £1.60p for 500ml from Wilkos....it goes a long way.

I mix my guar gum in the blender using hot water for a few minutes, I've had no trouble with lumps. I have to leave it a while before it becomes clearer to make sure I see nothing that will clog thing up. You'll notice the improvement straight away.

Indeed she does - just wondering which brand you bought Smile I've got the bog-standard wilko own Smile

Sadly I don't have a blender so put the mix in a fruit juice bottle and shook it frantically - I've enough strained so far to be able to use this afternoon though

The Rinse aid is wilkos own brand Alison.... pale yellow in colour. The blender is made for the job. I tried mixing by hand .... it went down the loo.

Yep - that's the same stuff I got Smile I don't really want to buy a blender though - I'd never use it for anything else! I've got best part of a teacup full of the mix though - that'll be plenty enough for today!

A bit late for a reply Alison, I've been at it all afternoon and finally managed to get a decent bit of light on the drop with my single flash. will blog the result around nine. I already had a blender so no more expense!

I didn't do very well tonight - I suspect some work needs to be done on my gum/water mix but that may well have to wait for a bit now. However I think I'll invest in a cheap argos blender Smile

The blender takes out the hard work Alison. It's all a game of trial and error. After getting the gum/water mix to your liking, try reducing the size of the drops, this worked for me.
