As usual I amused myself with the phone whilst waiting for the bus this morning - this is a statue in the promenade - The plinth reads:
Edward Wilson of the British Antarctic Expedition reached the South Pole on January 17th 1912 and died with Captain Scott on the Great Ice Barrier in March 1912.

I took a few other pics from the bus - generally not terribly successful but playing with the results always makes the bus journey go that little bit quicker!
