A little still life - the three books I bought yesterday, a couple more, some cheap inedible cherries and a little pewter jug.
I started off using natural light but it wasn't quite bright enough so brought in one of the big lights again with the barn doors fitted.
A bit of Topaz Adjust, a fairly subtle grunge layer added and curves/levels tweaking was also involved.
I do like these slate tiles

The tiles do add another dimension here Alison, rich colours & I like the open book which lightens the whole thing.

No1 for me
wonderful stuff...V2 is probably how I would process something like this..if I ever found the imaginative inspiration....but the warmth of V1 is more suited to the general feel of age I think...
Well worked here Alison a well constructed still life.
V1 for me Just
The warmth of v1 is definitely much more suited to this fabulous work.
A pleasure to be No.30.
Thanks everyone - I'm going to have another root through the tiles next time I'm in the garage and see what the others are like. I can see me ending up having the lot upstairs
Thank you Joline for your award - very much appreciated
