I wasn't going to upload today but what the heck - it's going to be a couple of days before I get the opportunity to do any pics so here is one taken earlier this evening.

I really need to find a decent bit of wood to serve as a table - one day I'll find what I want!

Did you send your cat out to find you the mouse? Great still life.......Sandy

Very nice indeed, much like a Vanitas style of image. Lovely lighting and good use and positioning of props.

Wisp of smoke from the candle is a master stroke - even the candle is dead....

Very Edgar Allan

Not exactly still life given that everything is dead Smile

Did you consider adding a point of juxtaposition, a plant in the deep BG (a live element)?, an open door with point of light?

Love the image....

A rather late thank you everyone Smile

The mouse was admittedly the victim of poison - specially researched and chosen for it's fast acting properties. The two that have taken it dropped within a food of the bait. I told them - if they keep off the kitchen worktops and stay on the floor then they're free to run around - they ignored me and I'm afraid I had to declare war. I'd rather not but sometimes it has to be done Sad This one keeled over between the wall and a cabinet - hence it's a tad flat!

I'll consider your suggestion about the plant/light when I can Coventryphotog - time for 'playing' is very short at the moment sadly!
