Today will go down in my history as the day I finally managed a collision - at long last I did it! Actually I managed four of them - none anything to write home when compared with the fab ones with fancy kit - but I stood there with my remote in one hand and the other holding the bulb of the turkey baster which in turn was strapped to a microphone stand.

I am one happy bunny - maybe next time I'll even get them in focus!

I wish there was someone there to photograph you doing stuff. I bet it's a hoot! Grin
Well done on these. I've never tried it myself as I don't fancy the mess and the time it takes, but I appreciate those who do.

These are great first attempt images. The detail is really good. Like you say they are slightly out of focus but that is easily sorted when you set up again.

One little thing I do when trying this is to stand a pencil on end with writing on ( ie name of pencil etc) and focus on it this with a slightly bigger depth of field seems to work for me,

But like I say great shots and happy practising !!!

I tried one experiment you did and it didn't work for me. Now you've made me think about this. I'd be happy with these. Like them all a lot......Sandy

Thanks folks Smile Yep - I'm quite encouraged by this attempt and will certainly be trying again - probably tomorrow evening as I've left everything in situ so may as well play again before I tidy it all up!

I too rather like V4 - I'll probably never manage to catch that again!

it's definitely worth persisting - messy, frustrating but fun!

Thanks folks - a small success and hopefully better results will be achieved in due course!

The colours are as taken - blue food colouring in the dish and red food colouring in the dropper - I might try yellow colouring this evening - maybe.........

Oh yes I have seen the one Kaybee linked too - not looked closely yet as I was a tad busy last night but I will........ Doesn't bother me one little bit - I'm happy with my own modest achievement Smile

I started doing my drop shots the same way you described but I used an eye dropper , and what a trill I got when I got MY first collision shot , and then I was hooked .
