The Celosia have drooped somewhat alarmingly today but I've chopped the stems and given them fresh water and maybe they'll revive long enough for a few more shots.
Meanwhile I still have this sunflower - the leaves are a bit iffy but I like them all tatty like that.

Effective image Alison.
When we were in Provence the advice from a flower seller on cut sunflowers was: Add ice cubes to the water....never completely change the water ....just top it up.
Works for me.
Like this image a lot
Hello everyone - thank you all and thank you Pete for the nice surprise of the HC That's rounded my evening off very nicely!
Thanks for the tip Alley - I've filled some trays up so shall have some ice-cubes by morning - If I can stretch these few out for just a couple more days it would be handy.
Superb image with amazing detail.
Gorgeous and well deserved HC.
I've never seen a flower look so animated...he's kust asking for a hug thats all. Never mind the ice cubes, that guy's just lonely...
ha, thats unbelievable. I'm loving that flower.
A slightly late return here but thank you all again! I'm afraid the sunflower didn't get a hug - it's now residing in a bin bag - sorry......
Anyway, the sun is out, the sky is blue and I'm off into town (Edinburgh) to see what I can find!
