Orange glow by Georgerees123

Orange glow

Excellent shot, George.
My only niggle is that there is too much in the foreground.
Maybe next time (if you are lucky) you could lower your point of view by a few centimeters. But that is just my (un-professional) opinion.
Keep your shots coming in - they are good.

Early Riser by Cavolfiore

Early Riser

Thank you, Ian. That first morning aboard ship as we sailed down the Danube was a very magical time. In the distance the birds were rousing and I was the only person (apart from the captain) up and about. The stillness and the reflections were fantastic. I just wish that I could have made more of it (photographically that is.) The following early mornings were poor relations of that first one.

Full Force Folly by mikesmith

Full Force Folly

Not up to your usual standard, Mike.
There is too much clutter at the bottom of the shot. Didn't you fancy getting your feet wet getting up close.
Or am I just jealous - you know me, Mike.
When I get close to your standard, I'll know I am nearly there (if I don't fluff it before).
I am planning to go to the folly on Friday, weather permitting.

At last, a steam train allowed to show what it is made for.

Why do you hide these fantastic shots for months before letting us see them.

My wife said it's beautiful - so it gets my vote.

An excellent image, Tom. Lovely and clear throughout the shot.

Low Down by mikesmith

Low Down

I see you have been back to Scaleber. I find it easier to step down on to the lower slabs rather than crawling in the mud. Still - that's probably why your photos are so much better than mine. Not that I am jealous or anything.

The Hogwarts Express! by smithgj

The Hogwarts Express!

Good shot. Nice to see the steam without a diesel backup.
I will be travelling on the Jacobite at the beginning of October and I will look out for this spot.

Dahlia at Biddulph Grange

Great shot. I have tried shooting flowers in the past, but they have never resulted in that little bit of extra magic that yours display.

Sun rays

This is a very well executed shot of the setting sun over the sea.

The Scarborough Flyer by Alan_Baseley

The Scarborough Flyer

A good B&W shot, Alan.
I agree with you that the steam engine was doing some of the work. I will be putting my shot on site this evening of the Flyer coming out of the tunnel at Marsden. The duchess came out of the tunnel very slowly and with very little exhaust, but then she suddenly belched and smoke and steam poured out of her as she pulled away very strongly down the slope into Huddersfield.

pixley falls by gravelgerttie

pixley falls

This shot could be much improved by removal of the rubbish at the bottom. I have the same problem with lots of my shots. I am told that I should stand directly in front of the falls, remove all the unwanted debris and trees and then take the shot. If the location is readily available to you - try it. The falls look quite interesting and I would be interested in seeing further shots.

Great Shot.
I have photos of the KWVR at Howarth, but never managed a good one at Oxenhope. It is time I paid another visit.
Love the HDR effect.

I was at York, Dave, to see the old girl arrive 5 minutes early. I'll post a shot in the station tomorrow.

Take Me To Your Leader by marcb103

Take Me To Your Leader

You wait for ages to see a good cloud in the sky and then a whole fleet of spaceships sail past. Brilliant shot Marc.
We rarely get such patterns round here - lenticular clouds I believe.
Normally when I point my lens skywards, I have to mop off the raindrops between each shot.

Me, jealous - no way...

Frensham Little Pond...

I think you have gone overboard with the colours, but apart from that, the subject is great, the point of view and the content are just what is required.

Swithland Sidings by kirkoid

Swithland Sidings

Good one yet again.
The way you have aligned the passenger train with the enthusiasts leaning out of the windows pointing towards the engine belching steam is great.
I must get out more often and take shot real shots. I love steam.

Chocolate Box Bodnant by digicammad

Chocolate Box Bodnant

Love this picture. The 50-50 split works very well and the position of the water lilies keeps the eye moving to see what else there is. There is the person walking on the far side and the reflection is perfect.
Fantasti composition,

Ditto that comment, Chrissie. It's a great shot, Dave.
I need to visit a railway line more foten and try to get shots as good as this.

Last time I saw this was at the NRM in York. It was in a line with others so I couldn't get the shot I wanted.
I like this shot with the sun full on..
