Black Cockatoos take flight

By cazozphil
It is not often you get to see black cockatoos (especially around where I live). We have a lot of the white sulphur crested cockatoos around but it is a real treat to see black cockatoos and to see three of them is special.

So when I saw these beautiful black cockatoos putting on an aerial display I just had to stop what I was doing and watch them. It was late afternoon and I was photographing some little puppies at the dog show, so I didn't have my longer lens on and had to make do with what I had.

The sunlight was just hitting the trees and the cockatoos and it was magic to watch.

I'm not sure if the upload will do them justice. v1 and v2 are just crops of the main photo.

Thank you for stopping by to look at my image.

thank you for that. I have just now added cropped versions of the birds just for a little bit of fun.

I know, how amazing is that Lynnie. They are hard to find in the wild aren't they Smile I couldn't believe there were three of them putting on a flight show. I was so wishing I had the big lens or the extender with me. But of course I wasn't there looking for them. First time I've seen three in the one spot and I only saw them on the Saturday and not the other two days I was there Sad

Such a treat.
