A soulless place

By cbrundage
One tiny section of a huge mall in Raleigh, NC. I don't like malls - everything is artificial. But someone on another site said they loved malls so to each his own.

I agree. I think they are similar all over the world or at least in the consumer driven places.
But ... I detest 'shopping' anyway.

Very good picture, Christina.

I hate shopping at the best of times in these places, but they have their uses ... like being the subject for some very interesting photography! Smile
Love what you've done with this one, it's very unusual.

Wonderful work here friend, love the 3-D effect you have created. 'Malls' are Shopping centres' over here, but they are just as soul-less, or most of them are. Must be a heck of a job to keep those floors polished, or perhaps they are self-cleaning, adding to the soul-les nature of the structure.
Fine work here.

I actually see a fancy mall and an ordinary shop in the same way.. appearance does not carry much importance.. what you get there, what lies inside is important, Christina.. if we go inside them, they are full of treasures.. but I don't like fiddling in the shops.. I usually make a very quick decision.. and that decision is not empty but comes with a lot of background information.. Grin

but this is a nice photograph..

Thank you all! We have the term "shopping center" here too but it applies to a bunch of stores together but you enter each one separately. Or we call it a "strip mall". I do almost all shopping online except for food so I may go to a mall maybe once a year, if that. Some people go there to walk, as they are so huge, and you can avoid the heat that way. One big mall in FL opened early just for walkers, before the stores opened.

An intriguing, interesting and imaginative point of view and capture. As for me personally they should pull down Shopping Malls and use our High Street Stores which will in turn encourage more people to use our towns and cities which will increase revenue for local businesses and create more jobs..

I agree, Nathan - they are monstrosities.

I like the way you put the squares on.
I don't like them either, .. they are all the same, the only good thing about it is to keep the rain out.

You are right, Jasmine. And for some reason, if I have something I am looking for, I never find it in a mall.
