Now I'm green with envy, one place I'd love to go is Cuba, how did you find it, was it all you expected, sorry questions., questions?!!

Thanks for the comments already!!!

K, Cuba is messy, dirty and wonderful and that's how I like to take it! Music, dance, colour, beauty everywhere... I dream every day of returning!

Pete, you are such a stylist! always so clean, clean, clean!

Brian, if there was an option to upload a separate 500 pixel version I would take off the copyright for that version, no idea how to do that?

What do you think of the picture then?

But thanks for commenting!

Thanks Mark! The cyclist is kind of the whole idea of the picture, capturing the *life* on the streets, not some dead pan sterile street scene!

Clean clean There's plenty of street life around without the cyclist who pulls the whole balance of the shot to the right. I'm gagging to go to Cuba too. Did you shoot any of the old cars...or am I being stereotypical Wink

Must say as much as I like it (which I do) I agree with Pete - the cyclist inhibits progress into the rest of the shot ?

Love it, works really well to portray street life. Would have loved to see the bike going across so the rider and child were reflected in the puddle. Can't have it all : ^ )

Yes, I agree Pete about the balance, a compromise would have been a wider angle shot with more space to the right, but the little Olympus point and shoot I had at the time really wasn't up to the job!

I love to get that moment when someone (colourful) moves into the scene and makes magic out of it rather like this one which you might remember a while back?

I guess you liked it because of the car and the more balanced composition!

I do have some others and will post them some day here, but I would love to go back and do a real photoshoot!

Dream, dream, dream... (better than clean!) ;o)

Dave & Karl, I think if I had been a little quicker also, I might have gotten the cyclist in a better spot, more balanced, but in a way the lack of traditional balance kind of reflects the spirit of the country, which is probably why it upsets us englishmen to see things a little off kilter!!!

The French would want me to line up the people in a row before taking the shot!!!

Angela, Will, Demelza, Paul, Nic and Nicholas,

Thank you for your very kind comments, while it isn't an image of perfection, the memories are very real indeed!
