I've had a little play in photoshop with this image. It's very difficult to make the hair look more life like. In the end I liked the effect of having no hair! I felt it fitted in well with the dark mood of the image and emphasised the models face. If it weren't for the hair, it wouldn't be so easy to spot this as a shop model.
I'd have also probably cut out the wall to the right, making it black.

Thanks Will yes after I sent it in I actually thought to "loose" the hair ...about the wall hmph!I spent "hours"on it trying to get the texture 'just' right ..lol
Seriously tho ..I agree that a mask like effect of the 'face' on black would give this image more impact/drama ..Thanks again for ur input much appreciated ..I will give it a whirl!

Cheryl Try making a selection of just the hair and add a small feather. Copy & Paste onto a new layer. Then add some noise to the new layer. Then add motion blur in the direction of the waves of hair. Now use Gaussian blur to soften the lines and Liquify with a small brush size to reshape the lines. Finish off by reducing the upper layer opacity to blend the two well. Flatten and save.
