A truly beautiful capture, Nick. I'd hazard a guess at 8-10 feet for the wave. (Old surfer). Wink

Padstow by dbedford

Ah. Padstow. I don't miss the UK, except for friends & family - and Kernow!

Nice shot, yes it's slightly overcooked, but still a lovely perspective and makes you think the right things, so it's a good 'un. Things don't always have to be technically bang on. It's about how the shot makes you feel. This worked for me.

Beautiful. Love the colours and the composition. Where is it?

Ah...the mighty Zep. An all-time classic song to match a classic image. Thankyou for brightening my day.

PS - anyone heard the Deborah and Jason Bonham version, sung live in an American Radio Station studio? Simply stunning.

Drumming up a storm

Drumming up a storm by richard loader

the immediate thing is that there's a ride cymbal 'cutting' him in half. The composition is spoiled by the cymbal stand top right, and the waste of frame top left. Such a shame, as the 'power' and focus of the shot has been lost. Because of a combination of low lighting, slow shutter speed and slightly 'off' camera position, it's a bit of a non-shot really.

Technically, it's good. You've captured the movement of the sticks, and the exposure & focus are both good but it could have been so much better with a bit more thought.

Tranquil Scene 2

This is nice. Lovely colours, and nice capture of the ripples there. But, I'm a little disappointed at the lack of detail in the thick black band across the middle. Shadows and highlights would sort this out for you. To my eye, there's something interesting to be seen there, and I'd like to see it.

Still good though.
