Hello, Not put much on my portfolio yet but feel free to make comment when I do. A lot of the stuff I have now fall into the category of lucky shot whilst hitting the trigger, well the ones you like do. The rest are under misconceptions of goodness by me.

I do not claim to be good at it yet but have a few small victories that keep me trying.

I am glad I had the gumption to show my shots no matter what after years of a lack of confidence in them, I was basically doing them fore my eyes only and now I am out there and quivering.... with excitement that is.

  • That look of love........ by rontear

My eyes are drawn to the little boy in the blue top. I think he realises they might be for more than feeding.

    Nice shot though.

It was not in my mind to prove a point so much as to record one. I can only get about another foot to the left tot take the shot as it is a narrow alleyway between two buildings and the one to the right, out of view, is covered in scaffolding. Not the best timing on my part I agree.

Did not think but I might have got a better shot from the other end aiming back which should have given me a better angle on the subject.

I will do tat next time through and get some more of the details, not only of the pipes but the real art of stone masons. The flats behind that wall are occupied so I have to be careful just how close in I go or I could become a news story.

Many thanks as you have activated my thinking process which I now have to sue when I take the shot next time.

  • Tree lined road on a misty morning by charliejohn

    Hi all and many thanks.

I did have the idea of focusing just on the sunlight and I like the fill in to take out that bland sky.

The sky was bland and I did consider putting false one in but then it would not have matched the misty conditions was my thinking. Never had that mist like that before so doubt I will see it again.

The only way I could have expanded the shot would have to been more straight on to the tree line and road. To go further back on tat angle was impossible as I was on a bridge over a tree lines stream. To the for left end of the picture is a messy junction, petrol station and buildings that look too urban.

I do wonder how it would look at night with the lights behind the trees over the road, a long exposure ( just practising with those ) would be interesting as thart road is busy between 5 pm and 8 pm.

There is quite a pleasant looking pub just off to the right side of the picture but the angle is obscured by a bridge.

I was concerned the area had little interest in pictures but now the ideas are being opened by your comments, thank you all.

Nice atmospheric feel to this picture, being a country boy at heart it brought back memories of early morning fishing trips. Perfect capture

Yes, after seeing the mass of black I did think I got it wrong using a dark background, still learning.

I like how your editing seems to increase the detail on the edge of the flames. I kept trying to do that with contrast and brightness changes but could not get as I wnated it but you have shown me it was possible so I will play with the software to work what I need to do to get the result, Thank you and everyone.
